Michael was born and raised in Valparaiso, Indiana. He graduated from Indiana State University with a degree in Aerospace Administration. Michael joined 1st American Management as a Residential Property Manager in May of 2008 and is currently managing properties in Lake and Porter counties.

Sarah has been in the real estate business for the last 5 years. Sarah brings experience both as a licensed Realtor and as a Certified New Home Sales Professional. She is a graduate of Ball State University with a degree in Elementary Education. She is currently a Property Manager handling properties in both Lake and Porter Counties. Sarah is active in the Valparaiso Chamber of Commerce, volunteering on the Lu-Wow Committee as well as giving her time for Envision the Future.

Peter has worked in residential and commercial property management since 1975 with Chicagoland companies such as 21 East Chestnut Management Company and Romanek Properties Ltd. He joined 1st American Management in 2001 and currently manages residential communities in Lake and Porter Counties. He was a volunteer with the United Way 2005 campaign as a Loaned Executive. Peter graduated from Trinity Christian College, in Palos Heights, Illinois and completed graduate studies at DePaul University. He is a board member for the Chicago branch of the Ukrainian National Association; he is a Volunteer Chaplain with the Orthodox Prison Ministry at Indiana State Prison, in Michigan City; and is actively involved with his parish's educational ministry.

After graduating from high school, Tom attended the General Motors Cooperative Technical Work Program, graduating with a certificate of completion. From there he went on to work at Bethlehem Steel. During his 29 years with the company, he worked in all aspects of the steel fabrication division, earning certification in the operation of several pieces of equipment including the fork-lift and mobile crane. His primary role was to assist in overseeing the operation of the department, which included maintenance of the fabrication equipment. As a lifelong Porter County resident, after completing the basic training requirements through the University of Michigan, Tom also served as a 2nd class firefighter with the Chesterton Fire Department earning a certification in hydraulics.

Gina earned a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Indiana University Northwest. After completing the experience requirements, Gina became a licensed CPA in August, 1999. She has been employed in the accounting field since 1994, with experience in public accounting and private industry. Gina has worked exclusively in property management since 1995. Along with supervising the accounts payable and accounts receivable staff, Gina prepares the monthly, quarterly and year-end financial statements for residential boards of directors and commercial property owners.

John has worked in property management since 1981 with Chicagoland companies such as Balcor Property Management, Miller Midwest Real Estate and Metroplex Inc. He has been a manager of 1st American Management Company since 1989 and is now President of the company. He attended both the University of Wisconsin and the Purdue North Central School of Business. John has received the Certified Property Managers (CPM) designation through the Institute of Real Estate Management in Chicago and is a licensed real estate broker in the State of Indiana. John is a past board member of the Coffee Creek Life Center, United Way of Porter County, Duneland Chamber of Commerce, Duneland Economic Development Company, American Heart Association, Valparaiso Chamber of Commerce, Lake County Boys and Girls Clubs and Opportunity Enterprises. He is currently on the Board of Directors for the Porter County Community Foundation, Duneland Parents as Teachers Association, and is an elected trustee of the Duneland School Board. He is a member of the Chesterton/Porter Rotary Club and Chapter #100 of the Institute of Real Estate Management.

Alex was born and raised in Minnesota and has lived in Northwest Indiana since 2001. A 2007 graduate of Purdue University Calumet with a B.A. in Philosophy, he joined 1st American in May of 2008. As a Residential/Commercial Property Manager, his portfolio includes both commercial buildings and residential associations in Lake, Porter, and LaPorte Counties. Just starting with the Duneland Chamber of Commerce, he is also looking to further his education by pursuing an IREM designation.

Jennifer is a lifelong resident of Porter County. She has been involved in property management since 1999. Jennifer graduated from Indiana University with a degree in criminal justice. She has previously worked as a caseworker with the Hobart Township Lakeridge Community Service. Jennifer has received her CMCA designation from the Community Association Institute. Jennifer is licensed as a real estate salesperson in the state of Indiana.

Karen has been employed in the real estate/property management field since 1988, and has earned an Associate's degree in accounting from Foothill College in Los Altos Hills, California. As a corporate officer, she is involved in all decisions regarding the operation of the company, including all short and long range planning. As office manager, she manages the office staff, administers the company health insurance policy and Simple IRA plan. She is also in charge of all accounting functions for the management company; including accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial statements, and payroll.

Cheryl has worked in the Property Management Industry for over four years. She is currently a residential property manager handling properties in Porter and Lake Counties. After spending over 20 years in the Insurance/Risk Management field, Cheryl has brought her diverse experience in the areas of management, marketing and customer service to 1st American Management. She is a firm believer in continuing education and is pursuing her CPM designation while being extremely active in her community with various organizations.

Jackie has been employed in the real estate/property management field since 1980. She attended Indiana University Northwest and worked towards a degree in Education. She has taken continuing education classes in accounting at Ivy Tech. She has seven years experience in the field of banking with Bank One (formerly Bank of Indiana). She has handled all facets of accounting for the entire management portfolio, including, but not limited to, accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial management and cash flow analysis. Jackie began as a volunteer with United Way of Porter County during the 1997 campaign as a Loaned Executive; she volunteers annually as a member of the Allocations Committee and currently sits on the Board of Directors. She is one of the founding committee members of the Opportunity Enterprises Marathon Team fundraiser and still serves. Jackie has been a licensed real estate salesperson in the state of Indiana since 1999.
